5月23日，工信部公布数据显示，今年1-4月我国软件和信息技术服务业（下称“软件业”）运行态势平稳。从总体上看，1-4月我国软件业务收入27735亿元，同比增长10.8%。
China's software and information technology sector sustained stable growth in the first four months of this year, with revenue from software-related business up 10.8 percent year on year. The sector's revenue amounted to 2.77 trillion yuan during the four-month period, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

软件是新一代信息技术的灵魂，是数字经济发展的基础，也是多个重大战略的支撑。据工信部统计，2021年我国软件业务收入为94994亿元，同比增长17.7%，是7年来的最高增速。今年1-4月，我国软件业务收入为27735亿元，行业利润总额为2785亿元。分领域来看，收入增速较快的细分领域包括工业软件产品、云服务、大数据、集成电路设计、电子商务平台、工业互联网平台、信息安全产品及服务等。
《“十四五”软件和信息技术服务业发展规划》提出，“十四五 ”时期推动软件和信息技术服务业发展，需要切实转变发展方式，着力发掘与中高速增长相配套的结构性潜能，加快推动质量变革、效率变革、动力变革。《规划》预计，到2025年规模以上企业软件业务收入突破14万亿元，年均增长12%以上，基础软件、工业软件、嵌入式软件等产品收入占比明显提升。
