Chinese female J-10 fighter pilot killed in an air accident

A female pilot of China’s J-10 stealth fighter jet was killed during an accident on Saturday.

中国一位歼10隐形战斗机女驾驶员在周六一场事故中不幸遇难。

Yu Xu, 30, was killed in a failed parachute jump when her jet crashed near Tangshan, North China’s Hebei Province.

当时飞机在河北唐山附近坠毁，30岁的余旭由于跳伞失败不幸遇难。

The accident involved two jets of the Bayi Aerobatic Team of PLA’s Air Force. A male pilot was injured and is being treated at a hospital, according to Beijing Science and Technology Weekly.

事故涉及中国空军八一飞行表演队的两架飞机。据《北京科技周刊》报道称，有一名男驾驶员受伤，目前正在医院接受治疗。

The PLA’s Air Force expressed their condolences through their official Sina Weibo account Saturday evening.

周六晚间解放军空军在其新浪官微上表达了哀悼。

Yu was one of the female pilots who are capable of flying the J-10 jets.

余旭是中国为数不多能够驾驶歼10战斗机的女驾驶员中的一员。

Yu made her last public appearance at the Zhuhai Air Show this month.
