在wish, if, if only, would rather的后面，过去完成时表示实际没有发生的过去动作或事情。

1. I wish I had bought that home video camera.

我真想买了那台家庭用录像机。

2. I wish I had said that I couldn’t come.

当时我要是说我不能来就好了。

3. If Bernard had come, everything would have been all right.

伯纳德要是了的话，本来是可以万事大吉的。

4. If I had been warned!

如果当时有人提醒我就好了！

5. If I had gone to university I would have studied medicine.

如果我能上大学，我会学医。

6. I would rather you had told her the truth.

我倒真希望你把真想告诉了她。

7. If only he’d remembered to buy some fruit.

他当时要是记得买些水果来该多好。

8. If only I had gone by taxi.
