Praised by many as an ideal role model, Zhao’s motto is that it’s never too late to learn. He is now auditing classes at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan as he prepares to earn a PhD, China Youth Online reported. 台湾105岁老人赵慕鹤是许多人的理想榜样，他的座右铭是“活到老学到老”。据中国青年网报道，赵慕鹤老人目前正在台湾国立清华大学旁听，准备申请博士学位。 Zhao entered National Open University in Taiwan in 1999. He commuted to school by bike every day, never missing a single class. He studied late into the night, and it only took Zhao four years to finish the 128 academic credits required to graduate, which he did at the age of 91. 1999年，赵慕鹤老人进入台湾国立开放大学学习。从此改为每天骑自行车上学，从来没有缺席一节课。他每天都学习到深夜，只花了4年就完成了所需的128个学分，在91岁高龄的时候毕业。 Several years later, Zhao decided to continue his studies. He passed the entrance examination for Nanhua University in Taiwan and got a master’s degree two years later. The 98-year-old set a Guinness World Record as the oldest postgraduate student in the world. 几年之后，赵慕鹤决定继续深造。他通过了台湾南华大学的入学考试，两年后取得了硕士学位。当时这位98岁的老人还创下了世界年龄最大研究生的吉尼斯纪录。 In 2015, Zhao started classes at National Tsing Hua University. He lives alone on the fourth floor of an old apartment building. Influenced by traditional Chinese culture, he studied at a private school and started to study calligraphy when he was 14. Years of practice made him a calligraphy master. Over the decades, he has donated huge sums of money raised by calligraphy charities to people in need. 赵慕鹤老人1912年出生于山东。受中国传统文化影响，14岁时他在一家私塾上学，并开始学习书法。多年的练习使他成为了一个书法大家。几十年来，他将由书法慈善筹集而来的巨额资金捐献给了许多有需要的人。 Zhao held a calligraphy exhibition in Hong Kong in 2012, and also published an autobiography. As he couldn’t use a computer at the time, the autobiography was written by Fang Yahui, based on Zhao’s oral narration. After the book was written, Zhao decided that he should learn how to navigate the internet; now he buys his own tickets online.
