This is the incredible moment dozens of motorists deserted their vehicles to dance in the middle of a highway during a major traffic jam.

The dancers, mostly middle-aged women, have been stuck in the traffic congestion for six hours before their improvised performance, according to Chinese media.

The video is believed to be filmed between November 13 and 14 in northern China and has been widely shared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

The traffic jam was reportedly caused by heavy smog as the entire northern China was blanketed by pollution over the weekend.
