据国家管网集团介绍，自2004年正式投产以来,西气东输工程输气量已累计输送天然气超7000亿立方米。2021年，西气东输管道系统累计输送天然气首次突破1000亿立方米。
The west-to-east gas pipeline has sent more than 700 billion cubic meters of natural gas to eastern China since it was officially put into operation in 2004. In 2021, the annual volume of natural gas transported by the pipeline has, for the first time, exceeded 100 billion cubic meters, according to PipeChina.
西气东输项目输气量折合替代标煤9.32亿吨，减少二氧化碳排放10.2亿吨、粉尘5.08亿吨，相当于种植31.8亿公顷阔叶林。
Over the past years, the project has reduced the use of approximately 932 million tonnes of standard coal and cut carbon dioxide emissions and dust by 1.02 billion tonnes and 508 million tonnes, respectively, which is equivalent to adding 3.18 billion hectares of broad-leaved forests.
西气东输工程是国家管网集团运营管理的“全国一张网”骨干天然气管道。2000年2月，国家开始启动西气东输工程，将其作为我国“西部大开发”的标志性工程。2002年7月4日，西气东输工程全线开工。2004年12月30日，西气东输一线全线商业运营。西气东输一线是以新疆塔里木气田为主供气源，以长三角地区为主要目标市场。2007年，西气东输二线工程正式启动，2011年投入运营，将来自中亚天然气管道的天然气输送至我国中部、南部和珠三角地区。2012年，西气东输三线工程启动建设，并全面实现工程技术自主化和技术装备国产化，建成后与原有的一线、二线相连接，实现了由管道输气向管网输气的跨越式发展。
目前，我国干线天然气管网的一次入网量为每年1900亿立方米，西气东输管道系统输量占50%以上，惠及我国西部、长三角、珠三角、中原地区近5亿人口。

去年我提出碳达峰目标及碳中和愿景以来，中国已经制定《2030年前碳达峰行动方案》，加速构建“1+N”政策体系。“1”是中国实现碳达峰、碳中和的指导思想和顶层设计，“N”是重点领域和行业实施方案，包括能源绿色转型行动、工业领域碳达峰行动、交通运输绿色低碳行动、循环经济降碳行动等。中国将统筹低碳转型和民生需要，处理好发展同减排关系，如期实现碳达峰、碳中和目标。
Since I announced the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality last year, China has formulated an Action Plan for Carbon Dioxide Peaking Before 2030, and moved faster to put in place a “1+N” policy framework. Here, “1” stands for the guiding principle and top-level design for carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and “N” refers to implementation plans for key areas and industries, including the action for green energy transition, the action for peaking carbon dioxide emissions in the industrial sector, the action for promoting green and low-carbon transportation, and the action for promoting circular economy for decarbonization purposes. China will strike a balance between low-carbon transition and ensuring the living needs of its people, and between development and carbon reduction, and will achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality within the time frame we set.
